You’ve never met anyone like her …
Antonia Scott is special. Very special. She is not a policewoman or a lawyer. She has never wielded a weapon or carried a badge, and yet, she has solved dozens of crimes. But it’s been awhile since Antonia left her attic in Madrid. The things she has lost are much more important to her than the things awaiting her outside.
She also doesn’t receive visitors. That’s why she really, really doesn’t like it when she hears unknown footsteps coming up the stairs.
Whoever it is, Antonia is sure that they are coming to look for her.
And she likes that even less.

What a roller coaster of a read with Antonia and Jon at the forefront – found it hard to put down this thriller. I enjoyed the writing, rather different to most novels I read.
A few points that interested me … (different from other books I have read recently)
* Incorporation of Alice in Wonderland and the Incredible Hulk
* Use of bullets to give clear setting out of points (I am using that method at present!)
* Italics for the thought process
* The mysterious Antonias story told via flashbacks – keeps the reader wondering
* The runnings together of words to emphasise a thunderstorm of fast paced movement.
* Real life events and older family relatives
I enjoyed reading the author note and background for Juans writing I received with my Book Post order . The cover was wonderful; gave me encouragement to read and feel the crimson story!
And I was ever so pleased, the author made mention that Antonia and Jon would continue with Mr White in Black Wolf.
